DCAM Synth Squad by fxpansion combines 3 modeled synths and a super deep layering tool into an insanely powerful bundle. Sound complicated? Well, it isn’t because you’ve got the exceptional synth guru Matt Vanacoro here to demystify it. Check it out! The first synth is called Strobe. It’s a super tight analog mono-synth. The next synth is Cypher. It’s a harmonically rich analog FM emulation. Then there’s Amber. Put on your tie-dyed tee and trip out on Amber’s lush 70s string sounds. This massive 39-tutorial course, designed by Matt Vanacoro, takes you through each of these unique sonic superstars and explains how each one of them works. From their interface, to their synth functions, you get all the inside info! Matt also explains how to program their common features like the arpeggiator, LFOs, and Visualizer.

One of L.A.’s most respected producers, engineers and mixers — and one of the busiest — Jim Scott has built his rep off of crisp, live-off-the-floor sounds and attendant good vibes. Scott picked up his first Grammy in 1995 for engineering Tom Petty’s Wildflowers, scoring two more for his work with Santana on Supernatural and the Foo Fighters’ One By One. In 2007, he doubled his Grammy total, scoring a hat trick for his recording of the Dixie Chicks milestone Taking the Long Way. That album was the most recent of dozens of projects Scott has done with Rick Rubin during the past two decades, from Petty and Johnny Cash to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Slayer. (Bud Scoppa, Mix Magazine July 2007).
